What’s your favorite location on campus that’s not on our tour? The Education Studio! This library and resource center for education students is a great spot to work and study and has so many useful resources for future teachers. I used it extensively to plan lessons and decompress while working on my teaching license.
As a Richmonder, what’s your favorite restaurant in the city? Dinamo is my absolute favorite restaurant – Italian food with Jewish inspiration that is never anything short of amazing. But really, why settle for just one? Go to the Richmond Folk Festival in the fall and sample food trucks from dozens of Richmond restaurants.
Where on campus do you feel most energized? Taking in a football game in the fall! The autumnal colors, the tailgating, the school spirit – campus on football game days makes you feel like you’re on a movie set.
Favorite music genre: I was (briefly) a college radio DJ, so I refuse to pick one genre. Alternative rock, maybe, if I absolutely must choose.
If you could go back to college and major in a different subject, what would you pick? The first time around I double-majored in history and religious studies. If I did it again, I would major in journalism so that I could reach a broader audience with my passion for history. Secretly, I always wanted to be on one of those Discovery Channel/National Geographic shows.
What advice would you give to students going through the college search process? Most people won’t find the “perfect fit” school. Instead of seeking perfection, look for the college that is most aligned with your goals, and will offer you the resources to achieve them.
