Virginia Community College Transfer Credits

Information only for Virginia Community College Students
The information below applies only to students currently studying at Virginia Community Colleges. If you are a prospective transfer student attending a four-year institution or community college outside of Virginia, a current high school student taking dual enrollment classes, or a student who has already enrolled at the University of Richmond, this information does not apply to you. Students who are not currently studying at a Virginia Community College should visit our main transfer student web page, first-year transfer credit page, or current student transfer policy page for information on course credit evaluations.

Transferring colleges and staying on track to graduate requires thoughtful preparation. At the University of Richmond, each transfer credit course request is individually reviewed by the Office of the Registrar and appropriate academic department. However, to help you with course planning, we have provided a list below of Virginia Community College courses from the Uniform Certificate of General Studies (UCGS) that have historically transferred for credit to the University of Richmond. Some of these courses may apply toward the University of Richmond's General Education Requirements; others may count toward major, minor, or general elective credit.

Please note that the University of Richmond does not guarantee that these courses will transfer for credit in future terms. Please consult the Office of the Registrar for all transfer coursework evaluations.
