Favorite D-Hall dessert? It’s not fair to ask me to choose, but I really like the trifle!

Favorite RVA restaurant? Garnett's

Biggest travel-related phobia? Hotel TV remotes and room phones.

Favorite person/celebrity to follow on social media? @weratedogs

Favorite part of the application? The Richmond Essay, there always seems to be more personality.

Who would play you in a movie? Amy Poehler

Do you have a favorite spot on campus?

The Weinstein International Center Courtyard. It's always busy with students going to and from class or grabbing a quick bite at Passport Café. But it’s nice to grab a table, listen to the fountain, and enjoy the liveliness of campus. However, if you’re looking for a quiet place, then I would suggest Parsons Music Library.

What is one piece of advice you’d give students for the college search/application process?

Visit campuses, but for more than just a tour. Check out other individualized visit experiences such as class visits, but also plan some time to explore on your own. We have a lot of great information to share and sometimes it can be a little overwhelming. So, take time to synthesize it all on your own or with your family. Find a beautiful spot to sit and observe the community around you. Soak it all in and ENJOY your time visiting colleges. It is such a fun and unique time in your life.

Let’s talk about RVA. What do you like about living here? What are your favorite things to do in the city/region? What should visitors be sure to check out?

Having grown up in the Tidewater area of VA (military, industrial, urban/suburban) and gone to school in a very rural area, I love that RVA has a little bit of something for everyone! We’re so close to great hiking, historical sites, cultural and art museums, and of course awesome food! It means that the city doesn’t attract just one type of person. It’s a diverse community with so much to explore!
